The long strange trip has been...

The beginning of a beautiful day in Santiago. They are not all like this, but this is shortly into August just after I had moved into an apartment on Teatinos y Catedral. I'm two blocks from the subway, and five or six blocks from "La Moneda" where the president lives. We can see the hill we plan to hike.

From "Cerro San Cristobal" we get an excellent view of the city on our way up and from the top.

I can smell eucaliptus everywhere and there are flowers blooming. There is a zoo on part of the hill, but today we take the scenic route. The "hill" is quite large and I'd love to snowboard down it, but snow is rare in the city.

The view of and from the virgin... Mary.

The gondola descent...

very cozy...
the beauty of the adventure.

Off to Chile

Una semana más. Wish me luck in my journey across the world in search of snow and passion. I love teaching and learning in all its forms. So I must travel to find my path en los Andes de Chile. Of course there is a girl, una señorita riquísima, la más bonita en el mundo.

I want to shout out to NO SCHOOL SNOWBOARD SHOP in Jeffersonville, VT for hookin' it up! Great gear, great prices, great sevice, thanks Danny and Bridget! Thanks to Ben&Jerry's for providing an entertaining employment atmosphere for the couple months leading up to my trip, and to Natalie at Westaff for making the connect. Of course I also have to give thanks to Smuggler's Notch. I owe my passion for the sport to the people and places of my home mountain.

Thank-you Mom and Krista for takin' the Budha. I love him very much and I know you will care for him as I would. Thanks all the rest of you on Budha's 'list of friends'. We appreciate and love you all. Thanks to my family... for bein' my family.

Last but not least, thanks to everyone else for the support and encouragement in pursuing the dream. I won't forget you and I'll try to keep this posted.

PEACE, LOVE, AND THE DREAM!

Live and Love

I love to ride and I ride to live! I am a Level 2 Certified AASI Snowboard Instructor. I'm not just an instructor, but a guide on the path of an aspiring rider. Its all about having fun while being safe. For some that means to take it slow, progress for the sake of progress, and enjoy the scenery. For others that means aggressively attack each skill, drive the body to condition for a hardcore back-country run or landing that crazy drop. Everyone can appreciate learning how to observe the hill, snow, traffic, and etiquette. I've been playing in the mountains of Vermont for over a decade... experience I love to share. I pride myself on understanding how we work, and my ability to convey that knowledge. The journey that can be provided by any challenging outdoor excursion is always deeply entwined in the experience I provide.
